Owen Sound Launches New Community Profile Highlighting Local Innovation and Connectivity
The City of Owen Sound is celebrating local innovators and entrepreneurs with a new economic development toolkit that highlights the amenities, opportunities, and sense of connectedness enjoyed by residents.
Available in both digital and print formats, the cinematic community profile invites potential residents and investors to spend time getting to know their future neighbours.
Featured community members are profiled in vibrant two-page spreads capturing a snapshot of their daily lives and their impact on Owen Sound. The series includes entrepreneurs, teachers, CEOs, arts professionals, and other local innovators, such as a marine navigation student, a family doctor who is also a champion weightlifter, and an internationally renowned Indigenous chef.
Through a data-sharing partnership with Grey County, key demographic information is available online in accessible and interactive formats that will be updated regularly.
The community profile also highlights ways Owen Sound is entering its clean energy era as a founding member of the Southwestern Ontario Isotope Coalition, host to world-class manufacturers pioneering decarbonization and electrification initiatives, and investing in collaborative partnerships with Saugeen Ojibway Nation, neighbouring municipalities, and other public and private sector stakeholders.
