2025 Waste Management Calendar Now Available Online: Enhanced Recycling and Green Bin Programs Launching Next Year

Owen Sound’s 2025 Waste Management Calendar is now available online at OwenSound.ca/Waste. Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, printed waste calendars will not be delivered this year. However, beginning December 16, paper copies will be available for pick-up at City Hall, the Owen Sound Transit Terminal, and the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Library. Additional locations for calendar pick-up may also be available; please visit the Waste Management website for an up-to-date list at OwenSound.ca/Waste.

To easily identify your waste collection dates, calendars are available in an east-side only or west-side only, as well as combined versions.  The City’s webpage can also direct residents to search for their pickup day by home address and outlines important information, like where to purchase garbage bag tags.

New! In 2025

The City of Owen Sound is excited to announce that starting January 2025, corrugated cardboard will now be included with regular bi-weekly blue box recycling pick-up.  

As part of the transition to the province-wide recycling program managed by Circular Materials Ontario (CMO), Miller Waste continues to be the recycling service provider for Owen Sound.  Residents with questions about recycling services can visit the Circular Materials website for Owen Sound at CircularMaterials.ca or contact Miller Waste directly at 519-372-1855.

To ensure your cardboard is collected:  

• It must be broken down to a size no larger than 24” x 18” x 6" - (approximately the size of a standard carry-on suitcase).  
• It must be bundled or placed in a container.

Also beginning in 2025, Owen Sound’s waste collection and environmental impacts will be enhanced with green bin collection beginning in June.  More details will be available in the Spring of 2025.
