City Joins the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association to Spearhead Clean Energy Initiatives

In a significant move toward sustainable energy and economic development, the City of Owen Sound proudly announces its new membership with the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA). This strategic partnership is a part of Owen Sound's broader initiative to champion clean energy technologies and practices.  

The decision to join the CHFCA comes on the heels of the City’s Community & Business Development Manager, Paul McGrath, attending the recent Hydrogen Business Council Conference in Toronto, an event showcasing the latest advancements and discussions in hydrogen technology. This participation underscores the city's commitment to staying at the forefront of clean energy innovation and its eagerness to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of hydrogen technology.  

Owen Sound is proud to be home to Hydrogen Optimized’s manufacturing and head office facility. The company’s patented RuggedCell™ water electrolyzers are created specifically for large-scale clean hydrogen projects to provide carbon-free energy for major industries such as chemical plants, utilities, and heavy transportation. 

The city's involvement in the CHFCA signifies more than just a membership; it represents a proactive approach to fostering public engagement, supporting sustainable infrastructure projects, and contributing valuable local resources.
