City Launches New Online Option for Submitting & Tracking Building Permit Applications

The City of Owen Sound is pleased to share that an online option for submitting and tracking building permit applications is now available through Cloudpermit.  

Cloudpermit is designed to streamline the City’s permit management processes, making them more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly. As a result, applicants can now fill out their building permit application online, eliminating the requirement for manual submissions and significantly expediting the process. 

Key features and benefits of Cloudpermit: 

• Centralized Platform: Cloudpermit provides a centralized platform for managing all permit-related tasks, including applications, approvals, and tracking.
• Accessibility: As a cloud-based system, Cloudpermit can be accessed from anywhere, at any time, using any internet-enabled device, offering greater flexibility and convenience.
• Automation: The system automates many manual processes, reducing the need for paperwork and minimizing the potential for errors.
• Real-time Updates: Users will receive real-time updates on the status of their permit applications, enabling better communication and transparency throughout the process.

The City’s Building Department will continue to accept applications in other formats at this time, however, the processing of those applications will take longer than if submitted through the online digital application process. In-person customer service remains available at City Hall from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
