City of Owen Sound Names 2024 Sports Hall of Fame Inductees

The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce the 2024 inductees to the Sports Hall of Fame! The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 3 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.  

Formed in 1981 by the Ramoca Shrine Club and the Knights of Columbus, the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to the people who have participated in local sports, either as participants or as builders. Today, a local group of volunteers continues to donate their time to support the Sports Hall of Fame.

Tickets cost $50.00 each. A future announcement will be made when public tickets are available for purchase. 

Elections and inductions are held to honour new inductees every two years. If a nomination for this year was not successful, please feel free to reapply on the City’s website for the 2026 induction when applications open again.

• In 1984, the City Parks and Recreation Committee stated its support for the continuation of the Hall, and in 2004 the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame underwent a major renovation at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
