Discover Your City: Owen Sound Hosts Community Open House on November 7

The City of Owen Sound is set to host an in-person Community Open House on Thursday, November 7, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bayshore Community Centre.  This event is a come-and-go evening that offers residents a unique opportunity to engage directly with city staff and learn about the essential services that impact their daily lives and share your ideas about our services with Staff.

Mayor Ian Boddy urges all residents to attend and ‘discover their City,’ stating, "Understanding how our City operates is key to building a stronger community.  This Open House will shed light on the services we provide and how they impact the city, and it will offer an opportunity to answer questions from our citizens.”

Event attendees can expect to:

  • Be informed and learn about what services the City provides, and what resources are available to residents
  • Chat directly with city staff and have questions answered
  • Learn about current and upcoming City projects
  • Connect with Community Groups
  • Meet neighbours, local leaders, and key service providers

Owen Sound is a lower-tier municipality, part of the upper-tier Grey County, and is the most visible level of government in most residents’ daily lives.  The Open House is intended to shed light on the services the City provides while also highlighting key local organizations and their services, such as Grey County Housing, YMCA Employment Services, the United Way of Bruce Grey, and more.
