Getting Married? Online Licence Application Now Available in Owen Sound

The City of Owen Sound is excited to announce its participation in a ServiceOntario pilot program for couples looking to wed. The program makes it easier for people to get married in Ontario by allowing them to apply for a marriage licence online. 

Starting immediately, couples can apply for a licence online through a secure portal before picking the licence up in person.  As part of the process, couples can also submit their required identification and supporting documentation electronically. The online process minimizes the risk of errors, is efficient, saves time and reduces paper for the municipality and the applicant. 

ServiceOntario’s online marriage licence application is being introduced through a phased-in implementation, with province-wide expansion targeted by early 2025.
