Harrison Park Pool Opens for the Season

The outdoor swimming pool at Harrison Park opens for the June, July and August summer season today, June 17, at 12:30 p.m.! The full pool schedule is available on the Owen Sound Tourism Website.

Free summer swims are offered on Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., thanks to the generosity of our Major Sponsor, Miller Waste Systems. 

Thanks to the generosity of our community sponsors, additional free summer swims are offered on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 

Open swim passes are also available, with seasonal and family pricing.

Quick Facts:

  • Swimming has been offered in Harrison Park since 1933. In 1978, it was upgraded to a pool from a swimming pond and renovated in 2018 to provide a leisure swimming facility following the construction of the indoor pool at the Julie McArthur Rec Centre, operated by the YMCA. 
  • Nestled under the trees near Weavers’ Creek in Harrison Park, Owen Sound’s only outdoor heated public pool is fully staffed with professional lifeguards.
  • Harrison Park Pool is fully accessible, including a fully accessible change room and ramp access into the pool. 
  • Swimming Lessons, Swimming Lessons Schedule and Private Rental Fees at the Harrison Park Pool are available by contacting the YMCA by phone at 519-376-0484 ext. 226 or by emailing aquatics@osgb.ymca.ca.
