How to Report a Concern to the City or Make a By-law Complaint

Service requests can be submitted and issues can be reported for various City services online. By completing the Report A Concern form at OwenSound.ca/ReportAConcern, issues can be directed to the appropriate staff for tracking and follow-up purposes. By-law complaints can also be filed here through the online By-law Complaint Cloudpermit system.

If you spot a potential issue, such as potholes, missed garbage collection, playground equipment issues, fallen trees on City property, traffic concerns, etc., please submit them through the Report A Concern form under ‘Report A City Issue.’  The form is quick and easy to use from a computer or mobile device and can include photo submissions to address the concern.  By-law complaints include standards not being followed, such as yard maintenance, short-term rentals and property standards, and noise or parking issues.

Before you start your report, please make sure you have the following information ready about the issue:

  • address/location of issue
  • description of issue(s)
  • photos (if applicable)

The complainant's name and phone number are required for by-law complaints.  Your information is confidential and will not be shared.

Using these online forms allows the issue to be electronically routed to the appropriate department for follow-up and tracking purposes.

The City of Owen Sound is committed to making the feedback process easy and accessible for people of all abilities.  If you require assistance reporting an issue or problem, please email communications@owensound.ca or call 519-376-1440.
