Lane Reduction and Sidewalk Closure in Area of 10th Street Bridge

Motorists travelling on 10th Street between 2nd Avenue West and 2nd Avenue East may experience eastbound lane reductions during the afternoon on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The sidewalk on the south side of the 10th Street bridge will also be closed to pedestrians between 1st Avenue West and 2nd Avenue East during this time.

This lane closure is necessary to accommodate sidewalk, gutter and curb improvements related to the Downtown River Precinct (DRP) Phase 2 construction project.  The DRP Phase 2 project involves work on 1st Avenue East, between 10th Street East and 9th Street East.  See more about the DRP Phase 2 at OwenSound.ca/DRP

All road users are encouraged to remain cautious and alert when travelling through the lane-restricted area to ensure the safety of all roadway users.

Delays should be expected; please allow for additional travel time and consider an alternate route of travel where possible.

The City of Owen Sound is dedicated to providing information to ensure residents are well-informed about interruptions. For more information, please contact Lara Widdifield, Director of Public Works and Engineering, at 519-376-1440 ext. 1201 or email to lwiddifield@owensound.ca.
