Local Government Week Runs October 15-21

The City of Owen Sound is proud to celebrate Local Government Week from October 15 – 21. Every day, local governments serve their communities by providing programs and services that residents rely on daily.

From taking care of necessities like roads, waste, and water, to creating diverse arts, culture, and tourism experiences, to finding innovative solutions to tomorrow’s challenges, municipal governments work hard to make change and build community.

Local Government Week is a great opportunity to educate yourself on how local government works. Or, you may consider getting involved by volunteering with a City Board or Committee.
