Owen Sound Earns Clean Audit Opinion, Showcasing Commitment to Financial Transparency

The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce that it has received a clean audit opinion for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. This achievement reflects the City’s commitment to financial accountability, transparency, and responsible management of public funds. 

A clean audit opinion, issued by the City’s independent external auditors, confirms that the City’s financial statements accurately represent its financial position and were prepared in accordance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards.  The recognition of this audit reinforces the City’s efforts to maintain transparent operations and build trust with residents through sound financial management. 

“The clean audit opinion for 2023 underscores the City’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of financial stewardship,” said Mayor, Ian Boddy. “We take our responsibility to the taxpayers seriously and remain committed to ensuring that public funds are managed effectively and transparently.”
