Parkview Park and Bruce Side Trail (Fitness Trail through Harrison Park) Closed for Urgent Ash Tree Removals
Parkview Park and the Bruce Side Trail from the Fitness Trail in Harrison Park to Parkview Park will be closed on Tuesday, October 22, Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24, for urgent ash tree removals. All trees being removed are infected by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The park and trail will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25.
Members of the public are asked to stay clear of tree work sites for their safety and the safety of tree workers.
Residents who are concerned about the condition of a tree on City property are asked to use the City’s Report a Concern form to request an inspection. Upon receipt of the form, the City will inspect the tree and follow up with the inspection results within 15 business days.
Quick Facts:
- The City’s recreational trail network consists of 30 km of trails.
- The City has a GIS-based individual tree inventory of over 20,000 trees on City boulevards and within active park areas.
