Post-Storm Clean Up Efforts Ongoing

Due to last night’s severe storm, City staff continue to prioritize and clean up damages from high winds and heavy rains across Owen Sound.

The City thanks citizens for their patience as Public Works and Parks staff work to remove the most severe damage first.  Staff may need to leave an area before everything is cleaned up to prioritize debris that continues to pose a hazard before resources can be devoted to limbs that may have fallen but aren’t a safety risk.  Staff will return to lower-priority issues once all the higher-hazard areas are addressed.

Some playing fields at City parks may be impacted; those with bookings affected will be contacted directly.  Electrical service is expected to be restored in phases by Hydro One.

If residents have an area of concern, please submit a form at OwenSound.ca/ReportAConcern or call Public Works at 519-376-4274.

For more information, please contact Lara Widdifield, Director of Public Works, at 519-376-4440 ext. 1201 or email lwiddifield@owensound.ca
