Public Notice of Intention to Pass a By-law to Govern the Proceedings of Council and Committees

Please be advised that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Owen Sound intends to pass a by-law to govern the proceedings of Council and Committees (the “Procedural By-law”) in accordance with section 238 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25.

The by-law will replace Procedural By-law No. 2021-123 and will incorporate multiple staff recommendations from staff report CR-24-077, as approved by the Corporate Services Committee and City Council.

The meeting at which the by-law will be presented will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at City Hall, Council Chambers, 808 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound, ON N4K 2H4. The by-law will come into effect January 1, 2025.

Notice is being provided in accordance with Notice By-law No. 2018-022. If the matter is postponed or considered at a subsequent Council meeting, no additional notice will be provided other than the information on the subsequent Council agenda.
