Canada Post Strike

Canada Post workers began strike action on November 15, 2024, leading to delays in service.

As a result, residents may experience significant delays in receiving their water bill in the mail.  Please note that the payment due date remains the same, regardless of if the bill is received in the mail.

Sign up for e-billing here to ensure you receive water (and tax) bills through email, and review payment options here.  The City of Owen Sound is requesting that residents DO NOT send payment through the mail during the postal strike.

Road Closure Notice: 6th Avenue West Sewer Repairs Begin Wednesday, October 23rd

October 22, 2024

The City of Owen Sound will be closing 6th Avenue West between 9th St A West and 9th St West for sewer repairs starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd. This closure is needed to keep everyone safe and allow the work to be completed efficiently.

This avenue is close to Owen Sound District Secondary School and the top of 10th Street West.  Please allow for additional travel time and consider alternate routes where possible.  6th Avenue West is set to reopen on Thursday, October 24.

All road users are reminded to remain alert and use caution when travelling through the area to ensure the continued safety of all roadway users. 

The City of Owen Sound is dedicated to providing information to ensure that residents of affected areas are well-informed about interruptions.
