Canada Post Strike

Canada Post workers began strike action on November 15, 2024, leading to delays in service.

As a result, residents may experience significant delays in receiving their water bill in the mail.  Please note that the payment due date remains the same, regardless of if the bill is received in the mail.

Short-Term Rental Licence Requirements Now in Effect

The City’s Short-Term Rental Licensing By-law is now in effect. All short-term rentals (STRs) located in Owen Sound require a licence to operate.

The City’s website includes resources for applicants, operators, visitors, and neighbours.

  • There are offences for advertising without a licence and advertising without a licence number.
