Spring Clean-Up Efforts Underway Across the City

With warmer weather on the horizon, the City is welcoming the change of season with a variety of spring cleanup efforts beginning as soon as conditions allow.

The Leaf and Yard Waste compost site is set to open next Monday, April 14.  Learn more about other ways to reduce waste at OwenSound.ca/Waste.

Over the next two months, City staff will be out across the community, tackling seasonal maintenance tasks to freshen up public spaces. This includes hanging new and seasonal banners in the River District, street sweeping, sidewalk pressure washing, and road line painting.

Work will be scheduled with consideration for weather and road conditions, and residents are thanked for their patience during this busy season. Residents can report issues, including street potholes or landscape repairs required due to snow removal machines, by completing the Report A Concern form online at OwenSound.ca/ReportAConcern. 

Community members are encouraged to do their part to help showcase Owen Sound at its best. Through the River District’s Locals Love It Here campaign, the City offers Community Clean-up Carts to rent for free. These carts come equipped with supplies to safely assist groups and individuals in tidying up an area of their choosing. Learn more about the carts at OwenSound.ca/CleanUpCarts.
