Take Part in Owen Sound’s New Year’s Eve Family Celebration

The City of Owen Sound will host the New Year’s Eve Family Celebration in partnership with the YMCA Bruce Grey Owen Sound once again on Tuesday, December 31, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre.  Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated at the door.

Public skating will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on both ice pads, and an open swim at the YMCA will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library will be on-site with button making and a scavenger hunt.  In addition, all are invited to participate in Balloon Creations by Petunia, decorate cookies, enjoy open gym time and create fun crafts. There will be live music by Charlie Gillespie, Vaughan Coffey, and Levi Wathke plus stilt walkers from Bognor Long Legs and Face Painting by Wyllowshimsies. The event will also feature organizations that focus on Youth.

Quick Facts:

• The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre is located at 700 10th Street East, Owen Sound.
• The YMCA does have bather capacity limits. Individuals wishing to swim may be required to wait several minutes until people leave the pool. The regular aquatics policies remain in effect. 
• The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre and YMCA Owen Sound is a Nut-Aware Facility.
