The City of Owen Sound Releases Summer Line-Up of Live Music

The City of Owen Sound is once again hosting free live concerts this summer! Twelve performances will be part of the TD Harbour Nights concert series, and seventeen will be delivered as part of the new MidWeek Music program (formerly Music at the Market). Owen Sound residents and visitors can dive into the vibrant energy of live outdoor music from June through September.

TD Harbour Nights concert series kicks off this Sunday, June 2 with The Beckett’s. This musical family has entertained audiences across the province for many years and strives to get your toes tappin' with their arrangements of traditional country, bluegrass, western swing, and Canadian Old-Time fiddling, combined with exhilarating Ottawa Valley step-dancing. This summer, there are 12 Sunday performances with artists from Grey County and southern Ontario. Grey County Rogers TV will live-stream the series as part of their weekly programming. The Harmony Centre will be the backup location in inclement weather. The series will also include several local vendors and food trucks.

The event is free to attend, but donations are greatly appreciated. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and arrive early for the best seating. The event location is 1155 1st Ave West, Owen Sound, adjacent to the City’s beautiful inner harbour. The complete lineup of musicians and vendors can be found at www.harbournights.ca. MidWeek Music also has an impressive roster of musicians and collaborators. MidWeek music débuts Wednesday, June 5 starting at 4 p.m. at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market featuring the Rock the Sound Choir.  MidWeek Music replaces Music at the Market, and the series can be found every Wednesday at different locations in the city, offering musicians and the community a taste of summer! Donations to support community initiatives such as these are accepted on-site, but thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the events are free.

• MidWeek Music runs Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. at venues within the City of Owen Sound from June to the end of September.
