The Hottest Street Sale returns to the River District

The Hottest Street Sale returns to the Owen Sound River District on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

This will be the 34th Hottest Street Sale. The event will take place along 2nd Avenue East between 7th Street East and 11th Street East in Owen Sound. The following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

• 2nd Ave East; 7th Street East to 11th Street East.  All intersections will remain open except 2nd Avenue East and 9th Street East;  
• 9th St East from 1st Ave East to 3rd Ave East Tim Hortons Drive Thru at 155 9th St East will remain accessible.

All municipal parking lots will be available during the event. On-street parking will also be available on streets where normally permitted, outside the closures noted above.    

The event will run between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and include over 200 places to shop, eat and enjoy music. This family-friendly event will feature the famous Summerfolk Stage, sponsored by Mix 106.5, at the 9th Street intersection with live music from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The Owen Sound & District Chamber of Commerce will also host a community stage on the front steps of City Hall starting at 9:30 a.m. with demonstrations and performances from local groups. 

New in 2024, the River District would also like to introduce its first Touch-a-Truck event.  This will be run by a long list of community and volunteer groups on the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue East, featuring everything from Municipal vehicles to Agricultural equipment trucks for everyone to enjoy.
