What’s Open & Closed in Owen Sound for Easter Weekend

As the long Easter weekend approaches, the City is sharing important updates on facility closures and adjusted hours.

City Hall & Greenwood Cemetery Office:

Closed Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21. Regular hours of operation resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

Public Works Admin Building:

Closed Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21. Regular hours of operation resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

Transit:

Owen Sound Transit (OST) and Mobility Transit will be closed on Friday, April 18 and open on Monday, April 21.

Guelph Owen Sound Transit (GOST) will continue operating its regular schedule every day.

Waste Management:

The Transfer Station is closed on Friday, April 18 and open for regular hours on Monday, April 21.

As scheduled in the 2025 Waste Management Calendar, waste will not be collected on Friday, April 18. Instead, the Friday Eastside route will be picked up on Monday, April 21.

Compost Site:

The Leaf & Yard Waste Compost Site will be open during regular hours throughout the weekend.

Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library:

The library is closed on Friday, April 18; Sunday, April 20; and Monday, April 21. It will be open regular hours on Saturday, April 19 and will resume regular hours at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22. 

Tom Thomson Art Gallery:

The TOM will be closed on Friday, April 18, and open for regular hours on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The TOM will be closed Sunday and Monday as usual.

Recreational Facilities:

The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre will be operate with regular hours from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21.

The Bayshore Community Centre will be closed from Friday, April 18 to Sunday, April 20. It will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is open on Friday, April 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s open on Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21, with regular hours and it's closed on Sunday, April 20.

Owen Sound Police:

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-1234, and for emergencies, call 911.

Owen Sound Fire & Emergency Services:

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-2512, and for emergencies, call 911.

By-law Enforcement:

Complaints or questions can be submitted online anytime. Regular By-Law hours will resume on Tuesday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m.
