Wheel & Ride Safety Festival Returns this Saturday in the River District!

The Wheel and Ride Safety Festival returns to the River District this Saturday, May 25! This free, family-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 8th Street East between 2nd and 3rd Avenue East.  

The Wheel & Ride Safety Festival is presented in partnership with the Owen Sound River District, Owen Sound Police Services, Owen Sound & District Junior Optimist Club, Optimists Club of Sydenham & District, Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound, and Scenic Cycle. The Event promotes bike and street safety. 

Highlights include an obstacle course, rules of the road, bike maintenance, a fundraising BBQ and more! 

8th Street East from 2nd Avenue East to 3rd Avenue East will be closed for the Festival from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. Parking is available in nearby municipal lots and on-street where permitted. Sidewalks remain open and businesses will remain accessible throughout the street closure. 

All road users are reminded to remain alert and use caution when travelling through the area to ensure the continued safety of all roadway users. 

The City of Owen Sound is dedicated to providing information to ensure that residents of affected areas are well-informed about interruptions.
