What’s Open & Closed in Owen Sound on Family Day
It’s nearly time for the Family Day long weekend and the City is reminding everyone of facility closures, modified hours, and alternate programming. Here is all you need to know to plan ahead so you can spend quality time with family and friends.
City Hall, Public Works Administration Building and the Office at Greenwood Cemetery:
Closed Monday, February 17. Regular hours of operation resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18.
Transit:
The Transit Terminal will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30p.m. on Monday, February 17, for the sale of GOST tickets.
Guelph Owen Sound Transit (GOST) will remain operating its regular schedule on Monday, February 17 weather permitting
Owen Sound Transit and Mobility Transit will not be running on Monday, February 17.
Waste Management:
The Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, February 17. There is no waste collection on Monday, February 17, as scheduled in the 2025 Waste Management Calendar.
Compost Site:
The Leaf & Yard Waste Compost Site is currently closed for the season. It will re-open in April.
Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library:
Closed on Monday, February 17. Regular hours of operation resume as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18.
Tom Thomson Art Gallery and Tourism Office:
Closed on Monday, February 17. Regular hours of operation resume at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18.
Recreational Facilities:
The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre will be operating with regular hours on Monday, February 17. The centre is hosting a hockey tournament this weekend and public skating is not available February 16.
The Harrison Park Outdoor Rink is open. Remember HOSE - Hockey on Odd calendar days and Skating on Even calendar days.
The Bayshore Community Centre will be operating with regular hours on Monday, February 17.
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is open on Monday, February 17 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a free day of family fun.
Owen Sound Police:
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-1234, and for emergencies, call 911.
Owen Sound Fire & Emergency Services:
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For non-emergencies, call 519-376-2512, and for emergencies, call 911.
By-law Enforcement:
Complaints or questions can be submitted online. Regular By-Law hours will resume on Tuesday, February 18 at 8:30 a.m.
