City Bus Service

The City of Owen Sound's conventional transit system is a four (4) route system operating during the day Monday through Saturday.  Please see affected holiday hours below (Transit Hours).

All four routes provide ½ hour service from 6:30am to 6:00pm. All transit buses are fully accessible. Motorized scooters are not allowed on the conventional transit buses.

The City's GIS map shows all the routes, shelters and stops. Alternatively, our brochure can be downloaded and printed.

Information on the City's Guelph Owen Sound 'GOST' and other intercommunity transportation services are available by visiting our webpage or contacting:

Transit users may purchase monthly bus passes to reduce their cost-per-ride to use the City of Owen Sound Transit System.

Single fares can be purchased on the bus; tickets or cash are to be deposited into the farebox at the front of the bus. We use the “exact fare cash" system and the Transit operators do not carry change. Single fares include transfers from one bus to the other. Riders must ask the bus driver to receive their transfer slip.

Bus passes and single fares may be purchased by both conventional and mobility transit users. Please call (519) 376-9139 with any inquiries.

Transit passes and trip tickets are valid on both conventional and mobility transit services.

The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 6:00 pm with the last bus leaving the terminal at 6:00 pm.

On Saturdays, the hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with the last bus leaving the terminal at 4:00 pm.

There is no transit (conventional or mobility) service available on Sundays or Statutory Holidays

In-line skates, roller blades, ice skates, or skateboards are not allowed to be worn or used while on the bus; you must hold them on your lap.

As an added feature to encourage an active lifestyle, a bicycle rack has been placed on the front of every bus. These racks are extremely easy to use and can hold up to two bicycles at a time at no additional charge to the rider.
