Calendars are available at OwenSound.ca/Waste in an east-side-only version, a west-side-only version and a consolidated version that shows both east and west pick-ups.
The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce that it has received a clean audit opinion for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. This achievement reflects the City’s commitment to financial accountability, transparency, and responsible management of public funds.
In accordance with the Provincial Minimum Maintenance Standards, the City of Owen Sound is declaring an end to the Significant Weather Event that was issued on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The Owen Sound River District, the City of Owen Sound, and Shannon Deckers Real Estate would like to announce that bookings for the third annual Just Say Yes, Valentine’s Day Wedding Event at City Hall are officially open.
The Just Say Yes Event is for couples who want a no-fuss wedding, an alternative to eloping, a simple wedding with style and flair, a legal wedding before or after a destination wedding, or who simply want their anniversary to be on Valentine’s Day.
Beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 13, the Owen Sound Leaf and Yard Waste Composting Site, located at 2450 28th Avenue East, will be closed for the season. The site will remain closed until early April when spring weather permits easy access.
Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Owen Sound has received an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment, being an application to amend Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2010-078, as amended pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended (the “Planning Act”) for lands located at 1750 16th Avenue East. This application is deemed to be a complete submission under Section 34(10.4) of the Planning Act.
Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Owen Sound will hold a public meeting to consider Zoning By-law Amendment No. 54 on January 27, 2025 at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City of Owen Sound, in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act.
Please be advised that the Corporate Services Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. has been cancelled.
The next Corporate Services Committee meeting will be held Thursday, February 6th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
Due to the impact of current and forecast weather conditions on the City’s road and sidewalk infrastructure, the City of Owen Sound has declared a Significant Weather Event that will remain in effect until further notice.
The exhibition spaces at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery will be closed starting January 6, 2025, for a planned replacement of aging HVAC systems. Exhibition spaces are expected to re-open in late March / early April with three new shows.
Please be advised that The Corporation of the City of Owen Sound intends to adopt an amendment to Fees and Charges By-law No. 2024-078, in accordance with subsection 391(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25.
