Please be advised that the Service Review Implementation Ad Hoc Committee Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, has been rescheduled for Friday, April 26, at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.

It’s nearly time for the long Easter weekend and the City is reminding everyone of facility closures, modified hours, and alternate programming. Here is all you need to know to plan ahead so you can spend quality time with family and friends.  

The Owen Sound Leaf and Yard Waste compost site will re-open its gates for the season on Monday, April 1.

Council has approved a proposed plan to install video cameras in the River District to promote safety for citizens. 

The proposed Ontario Pumped Storage Project is a 1,000-megawatt clean energy storage facility, proposed for construction in Meaford on Department of National Defence lands, located at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre.

Beginning Tuesday, March 26, through Friday, May 31, 17th Street East from 16th Avenue to 18th Avenue East will be closed to all traffic to accommodate a critical sanitary sewer replacement.

Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services is continuing the junior firefighter program once again this May! The program will be open to students in grades five or six at Owen Sound schools.

On the evening of Tuesday, March 26, Owen Sound City Hall will be illuminated with purple lighting for Purple Day in honour of Grey Bruce Epilepsy.  

The Harrison Park Entrance Road (1^st Street East) and the Freedom Trail will be closed at the Park entrance pillars on Monday March 25 at 5:30 a.m. for urgent ash tree removals. All trees being removed are infected by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The road and trail will re-open at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Motorists and pedestrians travelling in the 300 block area of 10^th Street East may experience lane reductions and/or sidewalk closures from Tuesday, March 26, through Thursday, March 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
