Beginning Tuesday, March 26, through Friday, May 31, 17th Street East from 16th Avenue to 18th Avenue East will be closed to all traffic to accommodate a critical sanitary sewer replacement.

Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services is continuing the junior firefighter program once again this May! The program will be open to students in grades five or six at Owen Sound schools.

On the evening of Tuesday, March 26, Owen Sound City Hall will be illuminated with purple lighting for Purple Day in honour of Grey Bruce Epilepsy.  

The Harrison Park Entrance Road (1^st Street East) and the Freedom Trail will be closed at the Park entrance pillars on Monday March 25 at 5:30 a.m. for urgent ash tree removals. All trees being removed are infected by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The road and trail will re-open at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Motorists and pedestrians travelling in the 300 block area of 10^th Street East may experience lane reductions and/or sidewalk closures from Tuesday, March 26, through Thursday, March 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

On Saturday, March 9, the Tom Thomson Art Gallery is pleased to unveil two new exhibitions by Soheila Esfahani and Racquel Rowe respectively. A joint artist talk will take place on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m., followed by the Opening Reception at 2 p.m. Both events are free to attend. 

The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is thrilled to announce the completion of its Accessibility Renovation Project. The Art Gallery is now fully accessible again following a year-long project that included the reconstruction of the front entrance and the replacement of an outdated passenger lift with an elevator. 

The Owen Sound River District is proud to announce it is the recipient of two Festival and Events Ontario Awards. The Innovation Award was received in recognition of the Wheel & Ride event, and a Top 100 Award was received in recognition of Holiday Magic.
