Beginning on Monday, July 8, through Thursday, July 11, 2024, road users will experience sidewalk closures on the west side of the street and southbound traffic lane reductions in the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue East.

Owen Sound will celebrate Canada Day on July 1 as part of The Sound Waterfront Festival at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park. This four-day, free cultural festival occurs from Friday, June 28, through Monday, July 1. It features entertainers, live music, vendors, food trucks, family activities, fireworks, and a focus on the area’s rich history.
River District Blooms has returned for a second year, and this initiative highlights the natural beauty of the River District and brings the community together to recognize and protect our native and pollinating plant life. Each installation will be on display for the entire summer season so that the community can watch as they grow and change.

Owen Sound Council is pleased to announce the approval of weekly collection of green bin organics and has awarded the new, eight-year waste management collection contract to Miller Waste Systems.
Starting on June 1, 2025, green bin organic waste will be collected weekly, with garbage and recycling remaining on a bi-weekly collection schedule. Collection days will not change.
The outdoor swimming pool at Harrison Park opens for the June, July and August summer season today, June 17, at 12:30 p.m.! The full pool schedule is available on the Owen Sound Tourism Website.
