Effective November 7, the City will begin a pilot program to offer an Affordability Rate monthly bus passes specifically designed for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and Ontario Works (OW) participants. This new rate will be available on a trial basis until transit fees are reviewed in 2024.

The memberships are valid from September 24, 2023, until March 31, 2024. Public skating takes place at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Ontario government is investing $25.5 million over two years to help address the rise of hate incidents against religious and minority groups. The Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant will help faith-based and cultural organizations enhance or implement measures to ensure community spaces remain safe and secure. The deadline to apply for this grant is Tuesday, October 24 through the online application form.

Today, the Government of Canada announced a repayable contribution of $3.5 million for Hydrogen Optimized Inc. (HOI) to expand its production of clean hydrogen. The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) announced the investment at HOI’s headquarters in Owen Sound.
