Sections of 2nd Avenue East will be closed beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11th and Thursday, September 12th, to accommodate the removal of cross-street banners in the River District. Each avenue block will be closed individually while staff are removing the banners, and opened as the work is completed. Intersections and east-to-west streets will remain open.

On Sunday, August 25, 2024 at approximately 12:30PM, Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a structure fire with heavy smoke coming from a 2nd floor window in the 1000 block of 6th Ave W.
Cause of fire is due to a clothes dryer malfunction. No injuries occurred as a result of the fire. Residents are reminded to clean your lint trap and dryer vents regularly.

Please note that the September meeting of the Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
